Daniel C. "Danny" Henson

Mr. Daniel C. “Danny” Henson, 56, of the Montebello Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton, Illinois, formerly of Niota, Illinois passed away Wednesday, January, 21, 2009 at 7:45 AM at the Keokuk Area Hospital.

He was born March 21, 1952 in LaHarpe, Illinois the son of Donald and Joan Scanlan Henson. On December 13, 1975 he married Dorothy Ruschill Kentch in Denmark, Iowa.

Mr. Henson was a graduate of Dallas City High School. He worked for the Niota Elevator, Gleason Manufacturing in Ft.Madison and as a guard at the Iowa State Penitentiary in Ft Madison. He served on the Niota Fire Department and was a trustee and past president of the Eagles Club in Ft Madison. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, camping, dancing and raising, chickens, turkeys, pheasants, quail and geese.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Dallas City, Illinois, three daughters, Carla Kentch of Niota, Carroll “CJ” Kentch of Dallas City and Christi (Stacy) Dochhterman of Niota, five grandchildren, his step-mother, Viola Henson of Webster, Illinois, two sisters, Jeana Henson of Goodyear, Arizona and Linda (Dean) Heard of Queen City, Missouri and one brother, Jamie (Sydney) Henson of LaPlata, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Curtis Kentch.

The family will meet with friends Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 with Rev. Mathew Yaley officiating. A memorial fund has been established.. Send a condolence here.
