Don Mohr

Don Mohr, age 87 of Quincy, Illinois, formerly of Dallas City, Illinois died at 8:00 P.M. Friday January 16, 2009 at his home. He was born August 21, 1921 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of William H. And Elizabeth Hansen Mohr. On August 3, 1947, he married Beulah Dunham in Dallas City.

Mr. Mohr was a graduate of Dallas City High School and attended Greer Technical School in Chicago. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He then farmed near Dallas City and owned and operated the Dunham Oil Company in Dallas City, and the Conoco Service Station, also in Dallas City. He was a member of the Dallas City American Legion and was a member and elder of the Dallas City First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters - Donna (and Don) McCain of Quincy, IL., Bette Mohr of Galesburg, IL., and two grandchildren- Donald McCain of Gross Point Park, MI., and Deanna McDaniel of Silex, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday January 20, 2009 in the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Tony Newton officiating. Cremation rites will follow the funeral service, with private burial in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City at a later date. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Banks & Beals.
