Kathryn R. Foglesong

Mrs. Kathryn R. Foglesong, 88, of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 2:10 P.M. at The Elms Nursing Home in Macomb, Illinois.

She was born September 10, 1920 in Adrian, Illinois, the daughter of Enileme D. and Eleanor Smelser Zern. She was married to Jesse Foglesong. They later divorced.
She worked at Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison, Iowa for 32 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.

She is survived by two daughters, Frances K. Crupper of Ivesdale, Illinois and Ellen Poulter of Blandinsville, Illinois, one son Jesse F. Foglesong of Quincy, Illinois, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Joan Roberts and June Ellis both of Dallas City, Julia Danner of Kahoka, Missouri and one brother George Zern of Burlington, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Alma Jean Duffy.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January, 17, 2009 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Pastor Al Simonson officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. Friends may call between 4:00 and 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.
