Roger D. Bousman

Mr. Roger D. Bousman, 61, of Lomax Illinois died Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 11:28 p.m. at his home.

He was born August 9,1947 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Joyce Langfitt Bousman. In 1965 he married Carla Carpenter. He later married Kathleen Symmonds Schaefer in Burlington Iowa on December 29, 1989.

He was a 1965 graduate of the Clinton, Iowa High School. He then served in both the Army and the Navy, and served two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart. He attended the Clinton Junior College, Blackhawk College, the University of Maryland, the University of Iowa, and Tulane University. He was a Quality Assurance Specialist at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant for 35 years. He was an avid Cubs fan and a member of the Lomax Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, his mother, Joyce Bousman of Clinton, Iowa, one son, Roger D. Bousman Jr. of Perry, Iowa, two daughters, Misty (Mark) Ray of Perry, Iowa and Jenni (Brad) Richardson of LaHarpe, Illinois, 11 grandchildren, 1 sister Barbara (Don) Jacobson of Clinton, Iowa and one brother, Darrell Bousman of Sterling, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his father, one son, Eric Schaefer, one grandson, Gregory Bousman, and two brothers, Bill and Gary Bousman.

Services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Pastor John Bremer officiating. Burial, with Military Rites, will be in the Carman Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Friday, December 26th at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday. A memorial fund has been established for the Make a Wish Foundation, Clinton Iowa, the Lomax Food Pantry or to a charity of the donors choice. Send a condolence here.
