Darrell Wayne Jones

Darrell Wayne Jones, age 52 of rural Stronghurst, Illinois died at 5:15 P.M. Sunday September 21, 2008 at his home. He was born September 23, 1955 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the son of John G. and Vivian May Waterman Jones. On July 19, 1997, he married Junille Long in Morning Sun, Iowa. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2007.

Mr. Jones was a graduate of Stronghurst High School. He had been employed at the Twomey Company in Smithshire for 34 years.

Survivors include three daughters - Audrey (and Roger) Cook, Valerie Corey, and JoBeth Jones, all of Stronghurst, his mother - Vivian Eagen of Oquawka, IL., his father - John Jones of West Des Moines, Iowa, one granddaughter - Arabella Cook, four sisters - Janet (and Jerry) Wratchford of Wylie, TX., Pat Eagen of Sperry, IA., Robin (and Alvin) Gunn , and Anna Sue (and Jim) Clark, both of Covington, Georgia, and one brother - John (and Carla) Jones of Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife and grandparents

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday September 24, 2008 in the Peace Lutheran Church in Prairie Grove, Iowa with Rev. Cindy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Burlington, Iowa. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. A memorial fund has been established for his youngest daughter- JoBeth Jones. Send a condolence here.
