Daisy E. Bundy

Mrs. Daisy E. Bundy, 71, of Lomax, Illinois passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 at 12:20 AM at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

She was born April 12, 1937 in Dallas City, the daughter of Floyd and Elizabeth Nichols Maynard. On January 16, 1954 she married Amos “Frosty” Bundy in LaHarpe, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2004.

Mrs. Bundy attended school in Dallas City. Earlier in life she worked at Lehigh- Leopold in Burlington, as a nurses aid at the LaHarpe Hospital and assisted her husband in the operation of the Sinclair Gas Station in Lomax. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and family cookouts.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Deborah (Steven) Thompson of Enterprise, Alabama, 2 sons, Jim (Brenda) Bundy of Williamston, South Carolina, and David Bundy of Lomax, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren 3 sisters, Dorothy Gilpin and Sonja Shipman both of Dallas City and Peggy Rockhold of Lomax and 1 brother, Tom Maynard of Pontoosuc, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 sister, Marrietta Hnatt, 1 brother, Butch Maynard and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 22, 2008 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Larry Menschel officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 2:00 until 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established. Send a condolence here.
