Irene Hartman

Irene Anna Hartman, age 96 of Stronghurst, Illinois, formerly of Burlington, Iowa died at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday July 8, 2008 in the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst. She was born October 20, 1911 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Anna Warmker Nesta. On June 8, 1930, she married Edjar Allan Hartman in Quincy. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1954.

Mrs Hartman attended schools in Burton, Illinois and received her teaching certificate in Quincy. She lived most of her adult life in Burlington, where she had worked at S.S. Kresge, Camp’s Laundry, and retired from National Research in 1984. She was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include one daughter - Carol (Max) Cunningham of Lomax, Illinois, eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and twenty two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son - Walter Edward Hartman, one granddaughter, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday July 11, 2008 in the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst with Rev. James Olsen officiating. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery, Burton, Illinois. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Send a condolence here.
