Eunice V. Cox

Mrs. Eunice V. Cox, 99, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 11:15 P.M. the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center in LaHarpe.

She was born July 30, 1908 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Linn and Lulu Smith Hines. On February 14, 1929 she married Edwin T. Carlson. He died in 1963. On February 22, 1974 she married Fred Cox. He died January 7, 1993.

Mrs. Cox was Postmaster at the Lomax, Illinois post office for many years. She was a member of the Retired Postmasters Association, the Farmers Wife Club, the Wednesday Club and was a former Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Lomax Christian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Hoffman of Mackinaw, Illinois and Sandra (Arthur) Blank of Springfield, Illinois, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.
