James T. Farniok

Mr. James T. Farniok, 84, of Macomb, Illinois passed away Friday, July 4, 2008 at 5:30 A.M. at the Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb.

He was born April 26, 1924 in Wright County, Minnesota, the son of Martin and Margaret Cebulla Farniok. On June 30, 1948 he married Phyllis Haverty in Maple Lake, Minnesota.
Mr. Farniok owned and operated Farniok Memorials in Macomb since 1958. He was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Macomb where he had served on the parish council. He was a member of the Third and Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus and was a past Grand Knight. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge, the Moose Lodge and the Eagles. He enjoyed tending his farm in Hancock County.

He is survived by his wife, five daughters, Linda (Bill) Fisher of Sugar Grove, IL, Gail Roe of Godfrey, IL, Pam Farniok of Springfield, IL, Vicki Ludolph of Nauvoo, IL and Jackie Lee of Macomb, five sons, Jerry (Pam) Farniok of Castle Rock, CO, Tim (Jamie) Farniok of Dallas City, IL, Michael (Carla) Farniok of Industry, IL, Patrick Farniok of Macomb and Craig Farniok of Godfrey, IL, 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Wally and Richard Farniok both of Delano, MN and three sisters, Valeria Topel of Delano, MN, Margie Abdnor of Longmont, CO and Eileen Merchant of Naples, FL.

He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 7, 2008 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Richard Pricco officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Macomb. The family will meet with friends at St. Paul Catholic Church Sunday, July 6, 2008 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 8:00. A memorial fund has been established for St. Paul School. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe is assisting with arrangements.
