Mary Frice

Mrs. Mary Frice, 92, of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Friday, May 23, 2008 at 12:10 P.M. at the Gilpin Home in Dallas City.
She was born February 3, 1916 in Niota, Illinois, the daughter of William and Mary Ellen Haigh Bertschi. On November 8, 1941 she married Wells A. Frice in Mexico, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August, 28, 1990.
Mary worked for W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co for 13 years. She also worked in the lunch room for the Dallas City School. She was a member of the Dallas City Senior Citizens where she served as coordinator for the Meals Program. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Dallas City.
She loved to travel, work in her yard, cook and spend time with her family. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s activities and liked watching pro baseball and basketball. One of the highlights of her life was getting to see Michael Jordan play.
She is survived by 2 sons, Wells “Lynn” (Theresa) Frice of Mundelein, Illinois and Randal (Jennifer) Frice of Burlington, Iowa, 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 sister-in-law, Julie Bertschi of Dallas City and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 4 brothers, John, Chet, Mike and Rolla Bertschi and 4 sisters, Kay May, Grace Bertschi, Edna McCannon and Ethel Bergthold.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 30, 2008 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. Burial will be in the Dallas City Cemetery. Friends may call between 4:00 & 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home Friday from noon until time of services. A memorial fund has been established for the Dallas City Fire Department, Dallas City Senior Citizens or the Gilpin Home.
