Elizabeth Gilpin McSparen

Elizabeth Gilpin McSparen, 54, of Carthage, IL died Wednesday April 23, 2008 at 3:25 PM at the Keokuk Area Hospital.

She was born September 30, 1953 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Leonard and Dorothy Maynard Gilpin.

She enjoyed family cook outs, bingo, puzzles, and her grandchildren. She was also a huge Elvis fan.

She is survived by her parents, Leonard and Dorothy Gilpin of Pontoosuc, IL, two sons, Ricky Grelk, Round Rock, TX, and Jason Grelk, Peoria, IL, one sister, Sherry Brown, Dallas City and three brothers, Russell, Fred, and Lenny Gilpin all of Pontoosuc, six grandchildren and her friend and companion Bob Leasman of Carthage.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday April 28, 2008 at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Revs. Larry Menschel and Jim Luder officiating. Burial will be in the Myers Cemetery near Pontoosuc. The family will meet with friends Sunday from 3-5 PM at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established. Send a condolence here.
