Ruth E. Gill

Mrs. Ruth E. Gill, 83, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 1:25 AM at the Wesley Village in Macomb, Illinois.

She was born August 17, 1924 in Bartonville, Illinois, the daughter of William and Kathrine Carr. On July 2, 1962 she married Dean Gill in Springfield, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1995.

She lived in Cillicothe, Illinois and Kirksville, Missouri before moving to LaHarpe 25 years ago. She worked for many years at Hollisters in Kirksville. She was a member of the LaHarpe United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one step-son, Mike Gill of Kirksville, MO, one step-daughter, Cindy Hainline of LaHarpe, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband one step-daughter, Sherry Johnson, three brothers and 2 sisters.

Friends may call at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 9 until 11 AM. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 6th at the Chillicothe City Cemetery, Chillicothe, IL with Rev. Ted Mitchell officiating. A memorial fund has been established for Wesley Village. Send a condolence here.
