Clarence R. Ingles 
Mr. Clarence R. Ingles, 98, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 9:15 AM at the Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab Center in Stronghurst, Illinois.
He was born November 4, 1909 in Ash Grove, Iowa, the son of Roy M. and Anna Doan Ingles. On June 23, 1946 he married Helen Cratsenberg in LaHarpe.
Mr. Ingles served in the U.S. Army from 1926 until 1945. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater in Patton's 3rd Army. He worked for 27 years at Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison, Iowa, retiring in 1973. He then worked for the city of LaHarpe as sexton of the LaHarpe City Cemetery for 22 years, retiring in 1995.He served on the LaHarpe Volunteer Ambulance Service for many years, was a little league coach and operated the concession stand. He was a member of the LaHarpe American Legion and the LaHarpe Christian Church where he had served as deacon and elder.
He is survived by his wife, a resident of Oak Lane, one daughter, Melody Hensley of LaHarpe, four sons, Gary Ingles of Pleasant Plains, Illinois, Don Ingles of rural Lomax, Illinois, Randy Ingles of Harvey, Louisiana and Paul Ingles of LaHarpe, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild, his son-in-law, Roger Hensley, two sisters and five brothers.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Darren Beachy officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Christian Church or the Henderson County Hospice.
