Darlene Booton

Darlene Booton, age 78 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 1:50 P.M. Sunday February 17, 2008 in the OSF St Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born January 10, 1930, in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Otto Gilbert and Hazel Poulter Andrew. On January 18, 1952, she married Boyd Booton in Sacramento, California. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1997.

Darlene was a homemaker, and had worked in the dietary department of Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab for several years. Earlier in life, she had worked as a sales clerk at the former Dallas City Lumber Yard in Dallas City, Illinois.She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, cake decorating, and being with her family and friends. She was a member of the Community Senior Citizens and the Stronghurst Christian Church.

Survivors include her mother, Hazel Andrew of Dallas City, Illinois, three daughters - Sheila (and Hector) Garcia of Dayton, Ohio, Janice (and Alan) Johnson of Alexis, IL., Lesa (and Jeff) Lawrence of Bemidji, MN., one son - Kevin Booton of Springfield, IL., 10 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren two sisters - Sherrill (and Ernie). Gilpin of Dallas City, IL., Jeanine Rosenboom of Fort Madison, Iowa, and her beloved cats. She was preceded in death by her husband, father, one sister - Phyllis Black and one brother - Robert Andrew.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday February 20, 2008 in the Stronghurst Christian Church with Ron Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Biggsville Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until time of services Wednesday at the Church.
