Clayton Huss

Clayton C. Huss, age 64 of rural Media, Illinois, died at 6:20 A.M. Wednesday January 9, 2008 at his home. He was born June 22, 1943 in Gladstone, Illinois, the son of Edward Wesley and Helen Hunter Huss. On March 18, 1966, he married Marilyn Magee in Biggsville, Illinois.

Mr. Huss served in the United States Army from 1962 until 1965. He had been employed by the Hudson Oil Company, Admiral Corporation in Galesburg, the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant in Middletown, and retired from Federal Mogul in April of 2007. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, one son - Carl (and Lynn) Huss of Media, one daughter - Penny (and Dale Nielsen) Hunter of New London, Minnesota, eight grandchildren, two brothers - Ed Huss of Burlington, Iowa, Lyle Huss of Lomax, Illinois, and four sisters- Glenola Lee, Gail Furnald and Georgia Kenney, all of Oquawka, Illinois, and Geneva Stewart of West Burlington, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister,

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday January 12, 2008 in the Carman Cemetery, Carman, Illinois, with Rev. Mark Baker officiating. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Friday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday. A memorial fund has been established. Send a condolence here.
