Mildred M. Blythe

Mrs. Mildred M. Blythe, 86, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 11:35 P.M. at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.

She was born June 30, 1921 near Fountain Green, Illinois, the daughter of Alexander Walker and Cly Blandin Mustain McConnell. On February 14, 1940 she married Keith Alton Blythe in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1986.

Mildred was a member and past president of theLaHarpe Chapter of the PEO and served as president of the Blandin House Museum in Blandinsville, Illinois. She was also a member of the Fountain Green Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Deacon.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lou Clugston of Nappanee, Indiana, three sons, Michael Lynn (Barbara) Blythe, Gregory Keith (Dianne) Blythe and Philip Blandin (Teresa) Blythe, all of LaHarpe, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one brother, Charles A. McConnell of Blandinsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law, Conrad Clugston, two grandchildren, Stephen and Christopher Clugston and one sister, Mary Lou McKinney.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Mark Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established for the Fountain Green Presbyterian Church, the Blandin House Museum or the LaHarpe Chapter of the PEO. Send a condolence here.
