Ila Reynolds Arnold

Mrs. Ila M. Reynolds Arnold, 83, of Lomax, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 31, 2007 at 6:30 P.M. at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.

She was born May 26, 1924, the daughter of Roy Frederick and Ruby Jane Freeman St. Clair. On February 4, 1942 she married Estel Reynolds. He died September 18, 1995. On June 1, 1997 she married Hobart Arnold. He preceded her in death.

She was a volunteer with the Henderson County Senior Citizens volunteer program for over 20 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Lomax Christian Church and a 37 year member of the LaHarpe American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Carman-Lomax Senior Citizens where she served as president for 2 years and served on their board for 10 years.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Carol Wilcox of Lomax and Betty Grau of Stronghurst, Illinois, 1 son George Reynolds of Marietta, Georgia, 4 stepchildren including Mike Arnold of Lomax, 10 grandchildren 2 step-granddaughters, 21 great-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren and 1 brother, Sheldon St. Clair of LaHarpe.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, 1 son, Sheldon Reynolds, 1 great-grandson, Jacob Markey, 1 sister and 5 brothers.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 4, 2008 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Pastor John Bremer officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Great River Hospice House or the Lomax Ambulance Service. Send a condolence here.
