Merle Patterson

Mrs. Merle Patterson, 82, of LaHarpe, Illinois, died Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 11:45 P.M. at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

She was born October 30, 1925 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle McEndree Rathbun. On June 17, 1943 she married Neal Patterson in Kahoka, Missouri.

She was a graduate of LaHarpe High School, class of 1943. She was a member of the Friendship Circle Club and the LaHarpe Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband Neal, two daughters, Carol Boecker of Las Vegas, Nevada and Cindy Kienol of LaHarpe, three granddaughters, Chrissie Kienol-Berlett and husband Brent of Fort Madison, Iowa, Heather Kienol and fiancé Dan Jensen of Burlington, Iowa and Niki Kienol of LaHarpe and her niece, Maggie Jones of LaHarpe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, December, 17, 2007 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Darren Beachy officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 P.M. Sunday. A memorial fund has been established for the Great River Hospice. Send a condolence here.
