G. Sue Bowman

Mrs. G. Sue Bowman, 60, of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Monday, December 10, 2007 at 5:15 P.M. at the Fort Madison Community Hospital.

She was born May 8, 1947 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the daughter of Harley Lonzo and Betty Louise Marsden Nickols. On December 28, 1964 she married Phillip T. “Shorty” Bowman in Carthage, Illinois.

Mrs. Bowman was a lifelong resident of Dallas City where she was a member of the Grace Bible Church and the Dallas City Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, NASCAR and attending races at 34 Raceways.

She is survived by her husband, 4 children, Phillip “Willie” Bowman of Dallas City, Nancy S. Bowman of Aledo, Illinois, Kristi Evans of Niota, Illinois and Samantha M. Bowman of Dallas City, 3 granddaughters, and 4 sisters, Andrea Arnold and Sharon Kline both of Dallas City and Peggy Hoenig and Pam Woodley both of Franklin, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Joseph “Joey” Bowman and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Grace Bible Church in Dallas City with Rev. Larry Menschel officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Myers Cemetery near Dallas City. The family will meet with friends at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
