Doris A. Kraft

Mrs. Doris A. Kraft, 87, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Friday, October 12, 2007 at 2:50 PM at the Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois.

She was born October 25, 1919 near Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Samantha Beckelheimer Millard. On August 17, 1940, she married R. Dale Kraft in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2001.

Early in life she worked as a waitress in Macomb and as a clerk at Hamilton - Miller Grocery in LaHarpe. Later, she and her husband owned and operated the Kraft Food Mart in Blandinsville for 10 years. She then worked as a receptionist for Dr Hafeez for several years. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting angels and going to craft shows. She was a member of the LaHarpe Christian Church.

Surviving are one son, Darrell (Connie) Kraft of LaHarpe, two granddaughters, Julie Salrin of Quincy, Illinois and Kelly Mapes of Carthage, Illinois, four great-grandchildren, Justin, Jason and Jared Salrin and Mitchell Mapes and on sister, Verla Aden of Galva, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her husband and an infant sister.

Friends may call after 9:00 AM Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe where the family will meet with friends from noon until time of services. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home with Darren Beachy officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Send a condolence here.
