Beth A. Nelson

Beth Ann (Louden) Nelson, 52, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 12:07 P.M. at her home. with family and friends by her side, after a year long struggle with ALS.

Born November 10, 1954 in LaHarpe IL, she was the daughter of Franklin and Jean (Link) Louden.

She was an avid scholar who loved solving crossword puzzles, and had an intense passion for reading and watching movies. She also enjoyed nature and cared deeply for our environment.

Survivors include her mother; Jean Louden of LaHarpe, three daughters, Emily Tate, a native of LaHarpe IL, Katie Nelson of Burlington IA, and Erin Neff of Terre Haute IL; four grandchildren, Brandon Thompson of Colchester IL, Franny Tate of LaHarpe IL, Anna Walker of Mississippi, and Cooper Neff of Terre Haute IL; One sister, Janice Louden of Oakland CA; Three brothers, Jim Louden of Burlington IA, Richard Louden of LaHarpe IL, and Harry Louden of Burlington IA; and her two beloved cats.

Also surviving are three nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her father, and her dear friend, Timothy A. Kurtz.

Her body has been donated for medical research. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. A celebrationn of her life will take place at the family farm, south of LaHarpe, following the memorial service. All famiy and friends are welcome. A memorial has been established.
