Wanda M. Covert

Mrs. Wanda M. Covert, 97, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 26, 2007 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.

She was born December 21, 1909 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ira J. and Martha Slusher Allen. She married Cecil M. Covert on March 24,1928 in Aledo, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1981.

She moved from Oklahoma to Illinois in 1913. She attended school in Blandinsville, Illinois and she and her husband farmed for many years near LaHarpe. In 1979 they moved into LaHarpe. In 1993 she moved to the Everly House in Macomb. She was a member of the LaHarpe United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the LaHarpe Senior Citizens.

She is survived by one son, Duane Covert of LaHarpe, two daughters, Luan Dunham and Carol Trompeter both of Fort Myers, Florida, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Tom Wright officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday.
