Esther J. Brillhart

Mrs. Esther J. Brillhart, 90, of rural Burnside, Illinois passed away Friday, July20, 2007 at 10:05 P.M. at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage, Illinois.

She was born January 31, 1917 near Burnside, the daughter of Herbert and Della Eddington Grove. She married Minor Hartwig in 1934. She later married Charles Brillhart in 1946. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1985.

Esther was a member of the Burnside United Methodist Church where she served as pianist and organist for many years. She worked as a nurses aid at the Memorial Hospital and the Hancock County Nursing Home, not retiring until she was 75. She always enjoyed living on the farm, gardening and other outdoor activities. She was known to love horses, even riding to school horseback during her high school years.

She is survived by two daughters, Esther Anne Maynard of Clifton, Colorado and Susan Archambo of Quincy, Illinois, one son, Daniel Brillhart of Camp Point, Illinois, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 23, 2007 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe, Illinois. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Monday at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Burnside United Methodist Church or the Hancock County Nursing Home. Send a condolence here.
