J. Dale Wisslead

Mr. J. Dale Wisslead, 79,of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at his home.

He was born September 6, 1927 in Macomb, Illinois, the son of Levi and Virgie Crickett Wisslead. On April 5, 1952 he married Dorothy McPeak in Blandinsville, Illinois.

Mr. Wisslead served in the US Army from 1951 - 1953. He farmed near Sciota, Illinois for many years and served as Sciota Township Road Commissioner for 20 years. He moved to LaHarpe in 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, 4 sons, John (Terry) Wisslead of Germantown Hills, Illinois, James (Pam) Wisslead of Sciota, Gregory (Debbie) Wisslead of LaHarpe and Brad (Carla) Wisslead of Bloomington, Illinois, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. And 1 brother, Dean Wisslead of Colchester, Illinois.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Darren Beachy officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Raritan, Illinois Cemetery. There will be no visitation. A memorial fund has been established for the American Cancer Society. Send a condolence here.
