Patsy Mills

Patsy Mills, 77, died from cancer, Sunday, May 27, 2007, at home in the arms of her daughters. Born August 10, 1929, in Fort Madison, Iowa, to Herman Henry and Alathea Marshall Smith Peterschmidt. Patsy graduated from Dallas City High School in 1947 and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington, Iowa in 1950. She retired as a nursing instructor from the Waynesville Vocational Tech School in 1992 prior to moving to Escondido, California in 1999.

Patsy was married on November 27th, 1952, to Raymond Edward Mills. To this union six “wonderful, fabulous, beautiful” children were born. Wayne Edward and (Teresa) Mills of Adrian, Illinois; Sharon Lee Annegers of Fort Mohave, Arizona; Cynthia Ann Talbott of Fort Mohave, Arizona; Susan Maree and (Dale) Harvey of Escondido, California; Matthew Ray and (Lisa) Mills of Richland, Missouri; and Raymond Patrick and (Jennifer) Mills of Burlington, Iowa

Patsy leaves behind one brother, James K. Peterschmidt and his wife, Mona, and their six children of Oxford, Iowa. She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, all of whom were the apples of her eye. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Patsy genuinely loved her children, grandchildren, her profession, music, food, the beach, and life.

Memorial Services were held at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, Illinois with interment of ashes in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fort Madison, Iowa .Send a condolence here.
