Jack R. Lamb

Mr. Jack R. Lamb, 74, of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 6:25 A.M. at the West Point Care Center, West Point, Iowa.

He was born November 1, 1932 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the son of Jasper R. and Lula Maud Prescott Lamb.

Mr. Lamb was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Air Force from 1953 - 1956. He worked as a driver for Safe Transport Co. in Hamilton, Illinois and later was a driver for Trailways Bus System. He also worked for many years as manager of the Dallas City Water Department. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Burlington, the NRA, the LaHarpe Masonic Lodge and was an avid outdoorsman and hunter.

He is survived by his special friend, Aida McCoy of Fort Madison, Iowa, and two daughters, Jackie (Kendall) Hetrick of Lomax, Illinois and Stephanie Lamb of Quincy, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services with Military Rites will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Myers Cemetery, rural Dallas City with Kendall Hetrick officiating. Masonic Rites will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City where the family will meet with friends from 6:15 until 8:00 P.M. Friday.
