Gwendoyln Schiedel

Gwendolyn Ruth Schiedel, age 74 of Lomax, Illinois died at 9:38 A.M. Monday February 12, 2007 at her home. She was born October 9, 1932 in Lomax, the daughter of Ernest and Helen Sherman Pence. On November 26, 1948, she married John Howard Schiedel in Red Oak, Iowa.

She was a lifelong resident of Lomax. She enjoyed quilting, was an avid collector of “Teddy Bears”, and loved to read and travel.

Survivors include her husband, three daughters- Pat Hart of Franklin, Iowa, Cindy Schiedel of Fort Madison, Iowa, Sandy (and Clarence) Thacker of Burlington, IA., two sons- Mark Schiedel of Wever, IA., Jeff (and Laura) Schiedel of West Burlington, IA., 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two sisters- Anona Widener of Monmouth, IL., Deborah Worley of Lomax, IL., and 9 brothers- Roger Pence of Richmond, VA., David Pence of LaHarpe, IL., Larry Pence of Lomax, IL., Sheldon and Jim Pence, both of Dallas City, IL., Ronnie Pence of Valero, CA., Wyverne Pence of Pleasant Plains, IA., Joe Pence of Carthage, IL., and Randy Pence of Niota, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son- Richard Schiedel.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday February 16, 2007 in the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, Illinois with Rev. Peggy Stott officiating. Burial will be in the Carman Cemetery, Carman, Illinois. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday. A memorial fund has been established for the Home Health Unit of The Henderson County Health Department. Send a condolence here.
