Marjorie E. Pearce

Mrs. Marjorie E. Pearce, 69, of West Burlington, Iowa, formerly of Canton, Illinois passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 1:36 P.M. at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

She was born June 25, 1937 in Marietta , Illinois, the daughter of Demming E. and Beulah Smith Moon. On September 30, 1955 she married Kenneth H. Pearce Jr. in Terre Haute, Illinois. He preceded her in death in May of 1983.

She was a graduate of the Terre Haute High School. She operated the Harper Gas Station in Canton for many years and also was a bookkeeper for Wheeler Trucking in Canton. For the past several years she spent the winters in Florida and had moved to West Burlington 1 year ago.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth Kevin (Debra Rose) Pearce of Elmwood, Illinois, 3 grandchildren, Kenneth Marcus Pearce, Kentrisha Marie Pearce and Christopher S. Roderick, one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Lucille Roderick, one sister, Barbara Lebeck of West Burlington and two brothers, Lyman Moon of Nauvoo, Illinois and Demming Moon of Tupelo, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Algie Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the McKay Cemetery near Burnside, Illinois. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. Tuesday.
